The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought reply from the federal government by January 09 next in a petition challenging a notification giving NEPRA under command of the federal ministry of water and power. The petitioner, a bar member Sheraz Zaka said that NEPRA was given under the control of the ministry water and power in violation of law. He said that the impugned notification was issued without getting approval from the council of common interests and the cabinet. He claimed that the impugned notification was violation of article 154 of the Constitution.
